My dear Grandpa passed away last week and I'm still feeling a bit numb. Our family has been through a lot of late as my Grandma also passed away just this last October. Although expected, as my Grandpa Ed was 97 years young (he would like to say), grief still takes over and takes its toll on everyone he touched. Not to mention that there are so many loose ends from my Grandmother's life that are coming up, as her passing was pretty unexpected and not yet resolved. One silver lining I am still discovering through all of these recent experiences is that I can help and keep busy. I am figuring out how I can best support my family and serve my best purpose. Of course I am helping deal with all the "stuff" and finding a home for all the objects that make up one's life. In one case, its a lot (my Grandpa was an orphan in the depression and held on to everything - yes, I come from a family of hoarders) and in another case its separating the items for donation from those meaningful and worth passing along to the right people. I'm also pouring my efforts into the photos, as I've always been a HUGE photo person and am making slide shows for the memorial services. I do intend to post some best practices in what I've learned and am putting in place in both households, but in the meantime wanted to reach out to YOU, my supporter, and THANK YOU. You are what keeps me going so that I can find some meaning, the little gold nuggets of tips that I live to pass along to you to make your life easier, whether its in your everyday or in a specific event like the one(s) I have been experiencing. I am back in town and am looking forward to working with you in person, or at least reaching you through your inbox, your insta feed, Facebook, or on Pinterest. I have lots of fun surprises for you in store this year and can't wait to unveil them! Thanks again for all the support. I truly appreciate it.Please let me know if you have anything to share on this topic in the comments below. Best, Sarah Sarah Hembree is Founder and CEO of Nest Happy.
